Maria Montesinos 

Managing Partner

With over 20 years in the travel and meetings industry including more than ten years in high profile international event planning, Maria brings a wealth of expertise to the CanPlan team. She has worked extensively with the federal government, including several international commemorative events for Veterans Affairs Canada and the Department of National Defence, the attendees included Members of Parliament, Minister of Veterans Affairs, foreign diplomats, the Prime Minister of Canada, and members of the Royal Family. Maria is skilled in the arts of event planning and execution, logistics management, team leadership and training, time management and scheduling, and communications. She is fully bilingual in English and Spanish with beginner level French.

 

Past positions include Senior Event and Exhibits Manager with SOMOS Consulting/Antian Professional Services, Senior Event Manager with MKI Travel & Conference Management, and Manager of Accommodation for the Toronto 2015 Pan American/Parapan American Games. Maria studied Conventions and Meetings Management at Algonquin College. In addition, she holds an Algonquin College Diploma in Tourism and Travel and studied tourism at University Nueva Esparta in Caracas, Venezuela.
