Position: Event Manager
Location: Remote
Duration: Full-time
Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 based on experience

Job Summary: The Event manager will be able to provide outstanding customer service and plan, organize events that meet the intended goals and expectations of the project. The Event Manager must be able to work well within time limits to plan, resource, and oversee the events. Excellent people skills are a must as you would be working with clients directly to identify their needs and ensure customer satisfaction. The abilities to multitask and prioritize are essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Managing Digital, Hybrid and In-person Event Requirements - Working with national and international clients.

Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work -- Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish the tasks as it relates to the event.

Coordinating the Work and Activities of Others -- Getting members of the team to work together to accomplish tasks.

Scheduling Work and Activities -- Scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.

Forming and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships -- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.

Communicating with Persons outside of the Organization -- Representing the organization to clients, public, suppliers and other external sources.

Making Decisions and Solving Problems -- Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution.

Managing Resources -- Monitoring resources and ensuring adequate supplies.

Gathering Information -- Researching, observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.

Performing Administrative Activities -- Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing documents for various events

Developing and managing event budgets, reports and expense quotations and approvals.

Oversee the site selection process and negotiate facilities contracts.

Oversee all logistical arrangements, including managing requests for proposal process.

Handle all event requests, inquiries, and assist in the servicing of portfolio accounts.

To project manage the workflow, logistical support, and timeliness of the delivery for projects undertaken.

To professionally coordinate and manage the set-up and production of the event on-site and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality event.

Conducting event postmortems, developing associated reports that provide an overview of key outcomes achieved, participant and client feedback, and future recommendations
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience leading, organizing and executing meetings, conferences and exhibitions of varying sizes and complexities.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills not only with your team but when dealing with other people, regardless of stature, position, or rank and with a wide variety of personalities. You are creative, resourceful and a problem-solver. You are highly organized with the ability to effectively coordinate and implement a variety of tasks and meet deadlines. You have the ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations and demands.
Knowledge: Significant knowledge in the meetings management industry including, but not limited to, association or corporate events, VIP protocol, exhibitions, sponsorship, digital services and database management.
Education: Relevant university degree or post-secondary certificate, e.g., marketing, or special events management, or equivalent combination of education and experience. CMP, CMM or DES designations are an asset.

Language: Multilingual, English/French, or other would be considered an asset.
Competencies:

Proficiency with MS Office 365 software programs including TEAMS, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Proficient in other digital communication tools (Asana, Google Meet, Zoom meeting & webinar etc.)

Digital Event Platform experience such as ON24, Pheedloop, Remo and others

Experience with design programs such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator or web platforms such as WordPress are an asset.

Working Conditions:
As a remote employee you will be responsible to manage your day but there will be occasions where you will be asked to work long hours, on nights and weekends when required based on an events’ critical timelines. Must be able to travel.
